fanta, golf, a vengeful parent and curly wurlys. that right there is my idea of a good night. i was in luck. ultra culture (of cooler.blogs.than.this fame ->) ran their third cinema evening at the ica last night. basically charlie (chief blogger) puts on an interesting film preceeded with a load of other stuff. last night we had magic, drawing and snacks.
i’m no movie reviewer, but mother was pretty fucking awesome. the lead lady who’s name i can’t pronounce and didn’t have a character name was superb. the film notes from ultra culture described her as a zoe wanamaker, and i couldn’t help but think that her son had more than a passing resemeblance to kris marshall (in a sort of south korean way) as well. i can tell you one thing. if ‘my family’ was as good as this i wouldn’t have been so inclined to throw my shoe at the tv everytime robert lindsay’s smug face came onscreen.
the point of this post is to big up the ultra culture evenings. i don’t know if i’m allowed to tell you what the next one is, but it is at the end of august and if you don’t go you’re a cock.
here’s ultra culture’s own take on proceedings too… superstyling (i have no idea why ‘superstyling’)
