right, here’s the deal. i get sent a lot of music to post. i get round to listening to it eventually but way too late to post*. anyway, with my laptop knackered at the moment i’ve had an idea… asking you what you think about the track! i can’t listen to it, so i’m leaving it all up to you.

the track i have chosen is by frederik teige. i like his band, efterklang, so i have high hopes for the single. it is described as feisty, short & sweet! what do you think? i’m well aware that 99% of my comments are from people wanting to sell me some crap or other so this is a risk. please listen (either click the headphones to listen online or right click & save as). please comment.

frederik teige. what is new? (mp3)

*this doesn’t always happen so please keep sending me music. thanks x

The song is a bit too generic for my tastes, I am not a fan of a lot of modern music, I think it really started when the Artic Monkeys came along, that was when i lost faith in the modern music genre and this song reeks of monkeys for my dollar. That being said there have been some bright sparks in modern music, Muse are just great for example, Coldplay produce some wonder hits so its not all doom and gloom. This though hurts me, its like Jack Johnson on steroids, poor, unoriginal and a little bit homo.

Thanks for listening.

I’m another that doesn’t like much modern music, but I quite liked this one, certainly has potential.

Oh nice – if that’s how it is described, it certainly does what it says on the tin. Wicked chord changes – I like. On a seperate note, I know a guy if you’re ever in need of different coloured viagra. Let me know if you ever need to buy any.

i quite like it. the lead singer has an interesting voice and its got a decent beat, like you find yourself bopping along to it subconsciously. feisty, short & sweet isn’t far wrong.

reminds me of the foals a bit, but not really.

Love it…made it the ring tone on my phone…upbeat, bright, slappy-happy. Cool voice too!

This certainly has potential and I would happily play it again.

I felt the lyrics did seem a little weak against the drone that appears to be going on in the foreground.

It plays better at a medium volume (as opposed to low or high) and with the bass turned down slightly.

@sockformation crowd sourcing is like focus groups that record labels have? The song you had wasn’t my thing, I didn’t think it was strong.

I like it, pretty laid back, I’d buy an album off the bloke for sure. I’d compare it to Snow Patrol is anyone.

By jove I think I like it. Voice reminds me a tad of Editors, there’s just a nice twang to it. A good beat which picks up to something quite special for the final 20/30 seconds but unfortunately then just ends, I feel I’ve missed out on a real ending which could have been great and it saddens me a tad.

His voice reminds me of about 50 other mediocre bands lead members’. Most notably Biffy.

This tune is pretty cash.

Very different to the Efterklang stuff ive been listening too.

I’ve been getting into them recently with Modern Drift and Polygyne playing pretty much non stop on my spotify starred list.

I think i prefer their older more lax tunes but this is good.
