time to pretend it didn’t happen

live review: mgmt. brixton academy. 29 september 2010

i saw mgmt on wednesday and was going to review it today. i haven’t really got around to writing anything proper, so i’ll quickly give you my thoughts. brixton suffered sound problems i think. a lot of the crowd seemed bored. many had only come to see ‘kids’, ‘time to pretend’ and ‘electric feel’. those three tracks went down the best, as you’d expect. i knew their newer stuff wouldn’t go down as well. overall, i thought they were okay. not bad considering they’re known for being difficult live performers.

anyway, what has prompted me to write this despite not having prepared, is the news that andrew has said (hopefully in jest) that they might produce jedward’s new album. i quote, “we met them at a party. they’re big fans of kids and they want to do it with us.” kill me now, but it gets worse. “maybe we could produce their album as well.”

i’m going for a lie down.
