just a quick gift for a saturday morning. frank ocean has just (adopts a voice to make me sound like i’m down with the kids) dropped a new track. ‘thinking about you’ will ease you into your weekend nice and smoothly. open your windows wide, soak in the sun and stick it on while you nurse your hangover. that’s what i’ve done and i think i’m now ready to go and buy a bookcase or two. thanks frank. i’ll let you know how i get on.

it’s been a quiet month here on sockformation thanks to me moving and finding out that virgin media can’t service my flat. the shits. that means that the playlist for june doesn’t fit in with the posts quite as simply. that’s nice in a way though as you can hear what i’ve been listening to on the bus every morning instead.

one of the mains things is monsieur serge gainsbourg. i watched the biopic and my obsession with all things to do with cool french people smoking just increased. what a man. anybody who has ever looked at the header here will know that i’m a bardot fan of course, but funnily enough after watching the film i’ve decided that serge and jane birkin are my new couple crush. what a pair they were. having said that it’s a bardot duet that i’ve gone and included on here so that makes little sense.

i was going to say that there has never been a bad song written about novocaine. whether spelled correctly or not. eels and kings of leon both excelled, and so now has frank ocean. i’ve just noticed that bon jovi also wrote a song called .novocaine’. i’m probably wrong then.

tyler called in odd future buddy frank ocean for the goblin track that probably explains tyler’s appeal more than any other. ‘she’ manages to be both disturbing and sweet at the same time. sweet probably isn’t a word you’d associate with tyler, but this song is a love song and in it’s own way sweet. the addition of frank ocean gives the song the sort of sound that could even make this radio friendly and widen it’s appeal. don’t worry though. there is also a bit about masturbation and stuff to keep the daily mail happy.
